But seriously, about the NNHL: Nothing that I've seen so far this year has led me to believe that anyone but the Islanders will win the Stanley Cup this year. The Islanders have a fine balanced team this year, with the league's third best offense (after Edmonton and Quebec) and second best defense (after Boston). Edmonton and Boston are the only other challengers that I can see, but the Islanders have shown that they can beat Edmonton, and Boston is talented but young and not very deep, and this will wear them down when they finish at the top of the tough Adams division at the end of the regular season and then try to get by Buffalo, Quebec, and Montreal in the playoffs. Besides, the Islanders have a special goal, and this will keep them going through the season and the playoffs, and perhaps even to a record sixth cup. Wayne Citrin (ucbvax!citrin)
