The mods to make vnews handle signals gracefully under 4.2BSD
have been posted to net.news.b.

Note that I didn't need to use setjmp/longjmp, a solution I regard
as very ugly.  I used a select call which waits for input or for
exceptions (interrupts).  Just what the Doctor ordered.
