Over the years I have gradually eliminated leather clothing and footwear from my wardrobe, but I am still dependent on toiletries (e.g. soap, shampoo, shaving cream) derived from animal sources. I have done a somewhat extensive literature search on organizations which produce or sell products (cosmetics, toiletries, clothing, luggage, footwear, etc) which are free of animal derivatives and are not tested on animals. I was pleased to find that there is more help available out there than I had realized. Recently (about a week ago), I mailed out letters asking for information from the various suppliers I have managed to learn about. I will gladly share my findings with anyone who is interested. While awaiting responses in the mail, I wonder if anyone has already taken this step, and would like to give advice, hints, pointers on how to go about it. Jonathan G.
