Because chauvinism means > to blindly ignore or dismiss all criticism of a cause. The problem is that there is so much criticism of feminism that simply states, as if it was an axiom, that those silly girls don't know when they have it good (check out a column by the editor of the American Spectator, whose name isn't in any hash bucket of my memory right now, on women, sports, and Title IX for an example) that there is a need for a newsgroup in which women can discuss feminist and other issues without having to waste their energy and patience dealing with that sort of criticism. Yes, there might be statements that go unchallenged which shouldn't, but not all problems have perfect solutions (most don't, in fact). > p.s. I don't mean to be so hard on you, but I find this "I'm not > predjudiced, some of my best friends are men", routine a bit hard > to swollow. Your accusation about "any man who does not support > my radical feminism, is insensitive, and unthinking, and needs to be > 'educated'", also sticks in my craw. Your use of quotes around a statement which did not appear in the original article sticks in *my* craw. I saw no mention of "radical feminism" in the article. As such, I assume you supplied the term "radical"; what's your definition of "radical feminism"? Guy Harris {seismo,ihnp4,allegra}!rlgvax!guy
