Now running (as of yesterday aft.) a new Unix, with /usr enlarged
still further.  This absorbs the last 15 spare cylinders on the
drive.  News expiry is actually in progress, but couldn't be finished
in time to avoid the need for a bit more space.

At the same time, Star Ring was removed from the system to let Wern
pursue some hardware problems.  The Unibus cable was left in place,
but disconnected on both ends, to save the trouble of having to thread
it through the 44's cable slot again when Star Ring comes back.  The
problem seems to have been a bad power supply, and Star Ring's return
is imminent.
