We are now running from the Eagles.  Filesystem movement was finished
this afternoon (which is why the daily backups today were at noon!).
Bootstraps have been set up and seem to work; the only annoyance here
is that the cold-start sequence is a trifle lengthy.  A revised version
of the "Rebooting the system" sign is in preparation.

The most immediate visible effect of the change is that "df" takes a
long time and reports very large numbers.  It's telling the truth.
The free-space counts on both usr and zoo are six digits long, and this
with a filesystem layout that (at present) only uses about half of the
space on the Eagles.

Much performance tuning and suchlike is still to be done; this was a
hurry-up job.  Also yet to be done is disaster-recovery arrangements,
for which we are still dependent on the Ampex disks temporarily.

The quietness in the machine room is quite unsettling.
