the idea of giving people full information on the medical procedures they
are about to undergo as well as on the other available options is an 
excellent one.  I wouldn't restrict it to abortions though;  I think these
should be available for any kind of medical treatment one is about to
undergo where the treatment is not necessarily the best: treatment of cancer
for one.  I think a good doctor should be able to provide this information,
but unfortunately there are not enough doctors out there who are willing to
treat their patients as intelligent people capable of making decisions
about their own bodies.  Also the medical establishment likes to keep the
monopoly they have on medical information, and giving lists of organisations
that might do just as good a job as them might be too threatening.
