For those interested...
Gala Sound in Rochester has on its used equipment racks an
old dbx 118 (or is it 119)
the OLD style dbx expander only, no dbx encode/decode
    old style has only one scale,not 3 like the newer ones
    old style seems to have better sound and bigger following.
 
Did not see a price.
