I don't know of anything with that kind of acceleration in that price range. So, assuming you still want to go around corners (drag racers have *real* good 0-60 times), the only way to get this is to buy something and "fix" it. A base model RX-7 for example (about $10K) plus 10K worth of parts from Racing Beat, and you'll have 0-60 in under 6 seconds. No sweat. The Formula-One people pull 600 horses from a 1.5 liter engine (yes, that's right, 1500 cc). The engines don't last a long time, but the cars will do 0-60 in 1.7 seconds, and they stick pretty good in the corners too. I'd love to do this if I didn't have to drive it to work...
