[here comes the story]. I was out one fine day getting ready to go up a fairly steep hill. I rounded the corner and was immediately surrounded by two snarling doberman pinchers. I could've run over one but elected to stop. My mistake. Any attempt to move was met by snarling. Their owner called them back once but they quickly returned to me. I solved this problem by pointing to their house and yelling (in a commanding voice) GO HOME!!! It worked. Another time I used my water bottle to good effect. I don't think I've ever seen such a startled dog in all my life. But are dogs really the bane of cyclists? I doubt it. I nominate automobiles but more specifically mobile homes. Keep on spinnin' Mark.
