USG based versions of uucp (this includes honey danber) maintain an
A. file that keeps the index of the last line in the corresponding
C. file that was successfully processed.  after an aborted connection,
the A.  file (if it exists) is inspected and work continues with the
indicated line.  go buy a 5.0 license and look at anlwrk.c.
