San Diego Lines: 19 [Hello] How about this idea? Have the '-' flag mean short, one character options that can be bundled and have the '+' mean longer alphabetic option names meant for new users? Of course, + and - options could be mixed on the command line. A user could use the + options until he got used to a command, then switch to the faster - options when he was ready. Theoretically, new users won't mind shifting for the plus if they aren't used to the - already, and old users would be happy with the old, cryptic options.
