Message-ID: <1275@pur-phy.UUCP> Date: Tue, 3-Apr-84 09:59:21 EST Article-I.D.: pur-phy.1275 Posted: Tue Apr 3 09:59:21 1984 Date-Received: Thu, 5-Apr-84 00:33:20 EST Organization: Purdue University Physics Dept. Lines: 40 Greetings to all readers, I have a possible explanation of what the Beyonder might be and will throw it into the conversations and see what happens. As we saw in Secret Wars #1, on the way to the galaxy, an entire galaxy was seemingly destroyed and a single planet was erected for the Secret Wars. Many peoples like Dr. Doom and Reed Richards were put into awe and thought that the being must be of incredible might and intelligence. The Beyonder must be a being of power and has some kind of intelligence, or atleast we are to believe. How can the readers be so sure that the Beyonder isn't an extension of Eternity. For Eternity, as defined in the Marvel Universe is the life form made up by all life forms in all the galaxies in the universe. Eternity was summoned by both Galactus and the Watcher in Fantastis Four #263. As most Marvelites will remember, Galactus called him "father". Why couldn't it be possible that Eternity has taken another form and wants to see if members of good and evil are brought and the winnings of anythings they want up for grabs. Would good as so put conquer over evil? The only other explanation of what the Beyonder could be (and that would seem somewhat logical) would be another supposed son of Eternity. Then that would show why Galactus couldn't get near the energy mass. In that way, we could surmise that Galactus and the Beyonder are of the same fabric of life, they are both made of cosmic energy. Only, the Beyonder can control the flow of energy while Galactus must take it in relatively small doses, like a diabetic with insulin. Sincerely, Paul Simmington P.S. Has anyone ever wondered why Galactus didn't try to absorb some of the energy that the Beyonder was trying to hold Galactus off with. He could have continued, seeing that he would digest the energy at will. Some people would see Galactus as a man that was given energy and a curse, of that he is really a a cosmic being with gifts. In my opinion, I think Galactus can never really be defeated, since now he has in his possession the Ultimate Nullifier.
