The new issue of Thriller (written by Bill DuBay)
mentions that Salvo used to work with Major Bishop Fortune.
Major Bishop Fortune is a character in duBay's 
Bold Adventure comic from Pacific.

Zot #2 has several Firesign Theater lines:
e.g.   "It's, well, smaller but cleaner."
e.g. "That kid's a wizard whoever he is."

Well, I guess we ALL bozos on this bus!
