Most banks charge commercial customers for EACH check deposited. There are charges for returned checks, for rolls of coins and in some places for straps of currency. Banks have found that they can nickel and dime their commercial customers as well as individuals. Oh, for the good old days of free checking without $2500 minimum balances and no `membership fee' credit cards!
