It takes a LOT longer, but this is guaranteed to come out PERFECT every time. Wash potatoes, let dry, rub skins lightly with butter or margarine, prick with fork and put in crock-pot on low for 8-10 hours. Voila, perfect potatoes. Mary I know some of the crock-pot books say otherwise, but this is my own tried and true method, and better than 'real' recipies.
