My girlfriend's former roommate had one. It worked like a charm. It doesn't eliminate a l l the guesswork from cooking eggs, since you have to experiment just a bit to decide what point on their calibrated scale is right for you (one person's "medium" being another person's "soft", of course), but after you're used to it it's a great help.
