If you want a real UNIX C compiler, look at a decent UNIX emulator;
avoid VNX and VAX-11 C like the plague!!! For a start, it doesn't
handle Upper-lower case distinctions across source files.
One example (this is a plug) is UNITY/VMS from HCR, with which I
happen to be associated. The compiler and linker are from BSD 4.1,
with an additional system V compiler in the works (we are waiting for
Release 2). There are educational discounts and small demonstration
licenses at low cost available.
