Lines: 31 The other useful thing to do with those asterisks is bronx cheering. A common name for asterisks is "splat", the sound of "splat splat splat ..." is about as rude as same. (say ********************). Could be useful for those easy replies to Ken Arndt in net.women. (think of the reduced phone bills, reduced disk space, and the novel concept of returning to the subject that would follow) Also, the article that explained creation/religion/jesus in terms of alien involvement had nothing on R. Bucky Fuller's theory of operations manual for the world in "Critical Path" & "Tetralogy". (Anybody else read these??) And, last but not least, since short (sometimes good) one-liners have become a fact of life due to the once voracious line-eater, why not make them the standard for cute phrases, and knock off the long, repetitive endings. As this is the net.flames, why not see how much light you can generate with something small, instead of how much screen you can darken. Since this is the net of choice for anarchy, I expect more than just pissing in the wind. It happens, but not often enough. It would be nice to see fire used to light & shape, not burn. Imagine if you will..... kev
