You imply that people should believe that which is comforting. Why don't you believe that you will never grow old and feeble? Because this defies rational belief. I won't believe in God just because it comforting. You also say that one doesn't believe in love and hope if one doesn't believe in God. I have plenty of love and hope, but I don't have to look to God for it. If you do, that's your limitation, don't believe that everyone is saddled with it.
