Recently I posted a rather mild flame about the unfairness of some of
the anti-Arab and anti-Islam postings on this group.  In response, 
Y.M. Martillo (ihuxt!martillo) posted another such article.  Some
of his points are apt and reasoned - others have just finished
raising my blood pressure 40 points.

For example:

ME: - Islamic doctrine explicitly calls for brotherly coexistence with
      "peoples of the book" - Christians and Jews.  

MARTILLO:
Islamic law describes a complete system of degradation and humiliation 
of non-Muslims.

Flame on - I have READ a lot of the Islamic scripture, in translation.  
           Obviously you have not.  I am right.  You are wrong.

Flame on FULL!

 Let me clarify what I am saying.  I am accusing the anti-Arab and anti-
 Islam posters of implicit RACISM.  Some of the articles posted to the
 net, had they been in reference to any other ethnic/religious group,
 would have been justly flamed off the map as examples of racist bigotry.

 Racism has no place in civilized discourse.  So get it the !#^&*# off
 the net.
