A number of people complained about grammatical and spelling mistakes
in the original article.  It seems quite possible that the original
author is not a native English speaker.  If this is the case, then
he was doing reasonably well.  English is a fairly difficult language.

Given the amazing (scandalous?) infrequency with which Americans learn
foreign languages, chances are that most of the people who complained
about the mistakes can't speak any foreign language well enough to
talk themselves out of a wet paper bag.
