	In the rogues that I've played, the message "You have a strange sense
of loss" usually means that you have read an "enchant weapon" scroll when you
were not wielding a weapon or you read an "enchant armor" scroll when you
were not wearing armor.  In 5.3 however, I think that this message also
appears when you read a "hold monster" scroll where there are no awake monsters
to freeze.
