Lines: 18 We have noticed something that seems to be too unusual to be a coincidence. Playing on holidays seems to yield better results than usual. Our high game (rogue 5.3) was set around new year's at 6599 Au. We played probably an average of 10 games (past level 6) per week since then, and never topped it. Today (Easter) I played 3 games past level 6 and two of them were over 7500 Au. (In the third I was killed by the nasty Save bug with a very nice array of tools). With rogue 5.2, our records (not cheating) also were set around Xmas. The amazing thing is, that it isn't obvious that you are going to get a good game at first. My 8000 pointer started with only 17 hit points by exp level 3. My armor when I quit was only 6 (not protected) and my weapon a 0+ 3+ long sword. The key to the high score was a ring of stealth, which allowed me to waltz around medusas and griffins while they slept. Has anyone else noticed a "holiday effect"? Could it be that rogue looks at the system calendar to determine if it is a holiday? I would have thought Easter would have been a bit much to include, since it has to be computed. Perhaps Eostre is the god of rogue?
