The World Future Society is having its annual conference at the 
Washington Hilton Hotel, June 10 - 14, 1984.  The theme of the
conference is "A Global Assessment of Problems and Opportunities".
Speakers inlcude: Fritjof Capra (author of The Tao of Physics), 
Amatai Etizioni, Hazel Henderson , Bertrand de Jouvenal and many
others.
For those who don't know much about the Society, it is a group con-
cerned about the future of the world.  Directors of the Society 
include Orville Freeman (former US Secretary of Agriculture), John
W Gardner (former US Sec. of HEW), Robert McNamara, Sol Linowitz

An evening session is scheduled on June 12 to explore shifting the
prevailing value set of individuals from comptetition to a more
cooperative outlook.  This workshop will be a gaming/ simulation
session based on the ideas of Buckminister Fuller.
