Lines: 35 UNIVERSITY OF EDINBURGH DEPARTMENT OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE RESEARCH ASSOCIATE/PROGRAMMER Ref: 5156 Applications are invited for a post of Reasearch Associate/Programmer, to join an SERC-funded IKBS project, led by Dr Jim Howe, which is concerned with the interpretation of sonar data in a 3-D marine environment. The work involves programming applications of statistical estimation, 3-D motion representation, and rule-based inference. Candidates should have a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related discipline. Experience of the UNIX programming environment and of programming in the C language would be an advantage. The post is tenable for twenty-nine months, from 1 May 1984 to 30 September 1986, on the R1B scale (#6310-#7190).
