Two of his roommates slept in a bunk bed and had identical electric blankets. One afternoon my friend swapped the blanket controls so that each bed had the control to the other bed's blanket. It was an interesting night. The guy in one bunk was a little chilly, so he turned up his (he thought) blanket control. This warmed up the fellow in the other bunk who then turned down his (he thought) control. Naturally, this chilled the first guy, who then turned up his control again. After a few rounds of this, they were both quite uncomfortable. As I recall, the roommates retaliated by borrowing 8 or 10 alarm clocks from other residents. They hid the clocks throughout the room, set to go off every hour or so all night long.
