I remember thinking up a couple of these myself back a few years
ago; the punchlines should clarify the time period in which they
were invented.

A: Catch-22.
Q: What does the Border Patrol do when 1,000 Mexicans swim the
   Rio Grande?

   (I believe some variant of this has been used by Karnac. Also,
   the answer has also been paired with the question, "What will
   [frequent guest] Bob Uecker do if you throw him 100 fastballs?")

A: Sealed in a mayonnaise jar on Funk & Wagnall's porch.
   (This is the line Ed McMahon uses to describe where the envelopes
   have been kept.)
Q: Where does Jimmy Carter wish Andrew Young was?

   (This last could also be used in a situation where the monologue
   was kind of rocky, and Karnac was in the process of bombing, with
   the question being, "Where does Johnny Carson wish he could keep
   his jokewriters?")
