I sent a piece of mail to someone who posted a discussion of the
significance of SAT scores to net.jokes - I tried to say that this is out
of place.  (The article seems to be uiucdcs.6631, from "mzp".)  The nature
of the reply I received in the mail is illuminating:

Of course, I know why mzp is responding to my bullshit, and so does mzp.
It's a nyah-nyah response.  Tell me something - is it REALLY that far out
of line to ask people to submit articles to the right newsgroups?  Am I
way off base???  Or should I go with the flow and start posting want ads,
flames, etc. to net.jokes?

To be quite honest, I've made a few bad choices of newsgroups in some of my
postings.  I've posted a stupid thing or two.  And I've been called on it
by other net news readers when I've done it.  It all seemed fair enough--
you screw up, someone tells you, and you correct yourself.
