Of all the jokes I've told, the only ones which were ever original were
puns. (E.g., the Screwtape Letters being sent by special devilery [see
recent discussion in net.religion]; and the tornado which tore up a
small town in Ontario by the name of Reeses Corners causing the town
to change its name to Reeses Pieces.) I think professional comics and
their writers are responsible for most of the non-pun "jokes".
