Forth Dimensions Volume 5 Number 3 (September/October 1983) has a very good article by Evan Rosen describing fig-Forth vocabulary structure. But you do have to kind of take his examples apart and put them back together again for yourself (at least, I did) to really understand the linking, root(s), et cetera of vocabularies.
