For it to gateway to the ARPAnet, a volunteer at some site which is on both USENET and ARPAnet must arranged to gateway the USENET stuff into ARPAland. There are some ARPA restrictions on exactly how this works, but I assure you there are LOTS of newsgroups for which it works. See both the ARPA List-of-Lists and the USENET "list of active newsgroups", both posted monthly (or so) in net.news.groups. Since we're not an ARPA site, I don't know for sure how it works. I suggest that an ARPA volunteer contact one of the other ARPA list maintainers for help.
