Margulies" Cc: header-people@mit-mc.arpa For its sins, "Acknowledge-To:" is specified by the JNT Mail protocol as generating an end to end acknowlegement. There are dire warnings about its use with distribution lists. The element is intended for human rather than machine processing (i.e. to give confidence as to a messages arrival). Many UK sites would send an ack if such a field is in the original message. UCL will send one ONLY if the message arrives by the JNT Mail Protocol. Steve
