The apple ][ keyboard is a simple, standard ascii keyboard that sends (as mentioned) a 7 bit ascii character and a strobe line to the main board. The ][e, on the other hand, uses an unencoded keyboard, and has the keyboard encoder on th main board (save money, you know). BillW
