In the December 1982 issue of Popular Computing there is an article
on "Deducting Your Personal Computer From Your Taxe$".  It contains much
of the basic info on how the tax laws apply, and has a program listing
(in TRS-80 BASIC) which allows your computer to compute its own deprecitaion.
This article should help, but the tax laws may have changed on this
particular subject so I would advise seeking additional guidance or 
IRS confirmation of the details.
