The debugger allows you to run a program whose listing appears in one window (with a little finger moving rapidly to point at the statement being executed), the dynamically changing values of selected variables appear in a second window, and the program output is in a third. To set breakpoints, you move tiny stop-sign icons next to the statement in the listing window at which you would like to pause to examine or change the state of the running program. -- Russ Rew { hplabs | nbires | brl-bmd | seismo | menlo70 } !hao!rew
