My dealer's service shop warns about this. The problem is minimized if you are careful to avoid overtightening the clamp and make VERY sure the cable fits into the small space provided along the edge of the slot. It is VERY easy to get the cable pinched because it is VERY hard to get it in correctly. The tight quarters and short cable length don't help, so you must have the patience to back off and try assembly over again if it doesn't look right. Of course, if you already have it installed, and it isn't too tight, and it doesn't look pinched or installed crooked, and it works, you are probably safer just to leave it alone...
