This is the way I will go to hook up the Olivetti Praxis typewriter I want to use as a printer. As for the serial port, you're right, it's not all there. I was told that it operates at TTL level, not RS232, and that conversion would be necessary. Even having done this, getting it to work seems like a great big headache.
