Somewhere I read that the empty socket is checked to see if it is really empty. If it returns garbage DOS continues on its merry way. If it contains a signature then some point in the prom gets the current instruction pointer control. My problem is that I cant remember the details, so it is possible it came to me in a dream! I cant find any reference to the F4000 start address nor any other reference in the Tech Ref BIOS. If someone in netland can set me straight and point me to the information I'd be thankful. Feel free to post as followup, others may like to know. -- ________________ | __________ | from the green screens | | hello! | | of | | | | | | | | Kevin O'Connor | | _________ | AT&T Bell Labs | | |byebye!| | Allentown, Pa | | | | | __ (215) 770-3546 | --| | |/ \_____ | --------- | _ _ \_ | | <.v.> | |__________Blit| |_~_| | ---------------- . \___/ . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
