I don't know if KDKA was really the first commercial broadcast station in
the U.S.  KCBS in San Francisco has recently been saying they were the
first, 75 years ago, starting with different call letters in San Jose.
Some equipment from that station still exists in the Foothill College
Electronics Museum in Los Altos Hills, CA.
