This decrease, amounting to almost 34%, is blamed on the increased popularity of won-tons in soup and other foodstuffs. Government agencies are attempting to capture some of these elusive creatures to place in zoos around the world. Washington National Zoo is expecting a breeding pair in early summer, and a breeding is planned as soon as is possible. A zoo official is quoted as saying "we don't really know how these creatures reproduce, but we think that a little soft music and wine can't hurt." So the next time you sit down for a dinner at your favorite Chinese restaraunt, just remember -- some poor helpless won-ton gave his or her all for that bowl of soup.
