Not quite.  I seem to remember reading that Joey (Tony?) Hendra (a former
Lampoon editor) was somehow involved in the film.  For those who remember
the trend-setting parody "Not the New York Times" of about six years back,
Hendra appeared as Pope John Paul John Paul II in the photographs.
