I didn't follow the first few "great guitarists" articles, so this may be
redundant, but probably not...

Phil Manzanera, lead guitar for Roxy Music and guest on a number of albums,
is probably not quite in the league of Fripp, but in my book he's easily
comparable to many others and more inventive than most, particularly on the
Eno "pop" albums and the 801 albums.
