He is a Romainaian who is currently touring the US. The guy's speed and control is just amazing. Although his recent "easy listening" stuff is a sell-out, his original native folk music contains some of the best solos that I have ever heard anywhere... the clarity, the coloring, the control while bending notes is awe-inspiring. I once had a ethno-musicology teacher who called him one of the world's greatest musicians. Unfortuately, he seems to have stopped producing these folk albums and it is harder and harder to find them. He now does covers to famous music soundtracks and things like that.
