Has it?  Certainly the evidence at hand points to a single biogenesis,
but I don't see how that necessarily implies the work of an single individual.
We cannot rule out the possibility that life was designed by a committee.
In fact, sometimes it seems to me to be the likeliest explanation.  :-)
