Washington, Computer Sci Lines: 9 My wife and I were living in an apartment when we got a small terrier. Believe it or not, she did not bark, and furthermore we succeeded in making an arrangement with the manager to use a small patch of ground on condition I turn it over periodically. We lasted about six months under this arrangement. Our conclusion was that it is impossible to perperly care for a dog (no matter how small) when living in an apartment. We wound up renting a small house with fenced yard, and have never regretted it. -Joe P.
