I am looking for sympathy in the form of a more sorrowful tale of woe. We lost a total of 3730 points considering both tables. Its everyone vulnerable. I pick up Axx-x-void-KQJxxxxxx. My interest perks up as I open 1C first seat. It goes 1D,1H,1S and its my turn again. I decide upon 3C. I now hear 4S,5C,5S back to me. It appeared 6C was a very reasonable shot and I took it. 6S,pass,pass follows. Now what? I chicken out and go with the double. Any suggestions for a lead? I chose my stiff heart after some thought. Dummy hit the table and I was slightly concerned. Here is the full deal: void KQxxxx Kxxxx AT Jxxxx KQxxx void AJxxxx AQJT9xx x x x Axx x void KQJxxxxxx Minus 1940 at our table. The auction at the other table went 2C-3D-dbl-P-4C-P-4H-P-5C-P-6C-dbl-P-P-P. Minus 1790. Sigh. A double doubled slam swing. Can someone top this story? Please cheer me up if you can.
