Mr Martillo:
	I admit to spreading lashon hara ( more on that ) about you on the
net concerning your views and the great Marvel Comic Book controversy.  I
will now publicly ask for your forgivness.  This is my attempt to apologize
for any injury my lashon hara has caused.  I am truly sorry and need your
forgivness.

Lashon Hara ( Evil Gossip )

"You shall not go about spreading slander among your people" ( Leviticus 19:16)
or Vayikra Kedoshim. This is from the Sedra of 4/28/84 and may be a suitable
topic for discussion now.  The term slander has been defined as the utterance
or dissemination of false statements or reports concerning a person, or
malicious misrepresentation of his actions in order to defame or injure him.
As I understand it ( please correct me if I am wrong ) Leviticus 19:16, in
the Jewish tradition, is understood to forbid the spreading of gossip,
even if the report is true and told without malice ( Yad, Deoth 7:2 );
uncharitable comment on fellow men is classified as a shade of slander or
"dust of evil speech" (Bava Bathra 165a).  As some say "Gossip when true,
slander when false".  The Torah prohibitions against lashon hara must be
observed towards any mitzvah observer, though it may be permissible to
speak evil about someone classified as a rasha, for example an apikoros
( amisecha Vayikra 25:17, Bava Metzia 59a ).

My posting/reply to Mr. Martillo can be classified as lashon hara and I
am asking his forgivness.  I would also like to open up the topic of
lashon hara for discussion, if anyone is interested.
