Kirk wanted to beam aboard Reliant and shut off the machine, but David said it couldn't be shut off. -Remember the ST TV episode with 'Jack the Ripper'? They got rid of him by beaming him out at 'maximum dispersion' so that he was disin- tegrated. Why couldn't they do that to Genesis?? Beam it aboard, then out into the nebula, disintegrated??
