I have seen a several remarks over the past year to net.singles that cites
the estimation that there is a rough ratio of about 60/40 (men to women) in
the computer field.  However, referring to generalizations, how well can
that ratio be appplied to netnews in general, and net.singles in particular?
In my opinion (from observation) it is another generalization that shouldn't
apply here, gauging from the names on (signed) articles.
